Some thoughts

Gutted that JWT  lost its £70m business with Rimmel.

On the other hand if I get asked which brand I would like to assist with, right now id choose the Diesel Black Gold advertising campaign (I didn’t even realise how involved JWT are with the fashion and beauty industry!).

I love that they are working with charity Media trust to launch a ‘campaigns for good’ competition. This company seems to good to be true!

STAY ALERT

I love these Pro Plus adverts, they are clever, funny and really appeal to their target consumer, even I can relate to the ads after just experiencing the end of my first year at uni staying up all night to meet deadlines and seeing friends post face book status like “on my seventh can of pro plus..revision is killing me”.

"we’re getting to a point where the cyber and real worlds are meshing, with the digital world growing much more personalized for individual users. But as our dependency on technology rises, so too will our desire to log off or dial it down, at least temporarily."

Connected Traveller

One thing that has caught my eye is the April trendletter ‘Rebooting Travel’, its something that I have thought about before and would benefit me this summer. In short the report looks at ‘how mobile devices, real-time connectivity. Social networking and the growing expectation of instant gratification are rapidly changing the travel experience’. I completely agree with this and even before reading this I was looking at how, when I’m on my travels, that I would keep people up to date with my trip and post photos. 

However at the same time I also love to have a break from technology while I’m on holiday/ travelling which is why I wont be taking my laptop! But know and again I would want to use an internet café to inform my friends and family on what I have been up to.

First of many

I have such a strange combination of feelings for my upcoming work placement at JWT London. I have been stressed the last few weeks trying to sort out 2 weeks accommodation, posting on every flat share websites, hostels, hotels, tried to work out if it would be cheaper to commute everyday from staying with friends who live just outside London. But as I kept telling myself, something will come up, and it did! I have a room in a house about 20-30 minutes away from Knightsbridge that I ended up finding through a friend- perfect!

So with accommodation sorted I now have time to be excited, nervous and anxious! 

 

This is my first real time in London, I’ve only ever either come up for a weekend with my family or stayed with friends outside the city. So not only am I excited for working with JWT but to explore the London and completely make the most of my two weeks.
